Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Mon, June 6, 2005 - 6:25 PMI was out there a few years ago on an off day. It was a little windy, but rather nice. Except for one other person I had the place to myself. There was a day use fee involved, if I remember correctly.
It's a little too far south for me to go to regularly; I generally opt for Red Rocks or Baker's (if I had a bad week and feel too lazy to deal with the hill). -

Thu, June 9, 2005 - 1:11 PMThanks :-)
Tony is JUST starting to accept the nude thing... He is a little shy. For my 18th birthday I was able to drag him up to Laguna Del Sol he didnt love it but he didnt hate it.
But at least he is OPEN to exploreing it A LITTLE :-)

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Thu, June 9, 2005 - 5:41 PMI've never been to Laguna, though a number of my local beach friends have. In fact, one couple I know have a second home there. Very much the hard core nudists.
I do understand why your b/f was iffy about it. Laguna is very family oriented and very structured regarding it rules. That's one reason why I haven't gone, that and I don't see any reason to pay a day fee and drive 45 minutes when I can drive 20 and do the same thing for free.
If you are close to the Sacramento area, I can tell you about some river places nearby. I'll be at the closest one on Sunday ... in fact, so will the Laguna couple. -

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Thu, June 9, 2005 - 9:23 PMMy parents and I went to Laguna when I was 15, none of us had ever done the nude thing we just wanted to try something new.
I took to it a lot more than they did. We own a pullout trailer as well and I worked there at one point... my first job :-P. Now at 18 I still enjoy going but it is very much a "couple" or "family" place and i get a little lonely all alone up there considering most singles are old enough to be my grandparents...
I am a bit warey of beaches by myself merely from things I have heard in rumor, that is why I joined this group so I could hear a little more about it from peopoe -

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Thu, June 9, 2005 - 11:06 PMYou worked there? Do you know Frank and Gayle ... older couple, she's a blonde who is kind of a mover and shaker there; Frank's more laid back, moustache and graying hair? -

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Fri, June 10, 2005 - 6:33 AMI did indeed work there :-) I was a waitress at the resturant.
I know Gayle for sure but I am not too sure about Frank, I may know him by sight.
I havent been able to go up much this year... my boyfriend doesnt like it as I said and I've got no one else to go with *shrugs* oh well -

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Fri, June 10, 2005 - 7:00 AMCool ... I know that a lot of people work with screen names on here, but if you would like me to say Hi to Frank and Gayle this weekend, shoot me an email off list ... email addy is in my profile.
Also, if you are sort of local and would like a ride to the Auburn beach sometime I usually go up on Sundays and would be happy to let you hitch up there with me. It's a nice bunch of people and they behave themselves.

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Mon, June 13, 2005 - 2:03 PMHi-- Red White & Blue is great, if you can afford the drive, and the day use fee (which is getting steeper all the time). But for the price, it's definitely worth it. The entry fee cuts down (not eliminates) sleazy men, and it's pretty much the only beach I'd feel really comfortable going to by myself (and have been, since I was 18 or so).
It can get windy, and is often foggy in the summer, so call and get a weather report before you go-- they're nice folks, and can also answer any of your questions by phone.
They have a bathroom with hot showers (coin op), and you can camp there overnight (for an additional fee of course). The beach is long and wide, plenty of room for everyone, and at lower tides, you can walk for what seems like miles, out along the cliffs and away from the main part (just be careful if you're by yourself!).
Wading is great when the waves are cooperating, but I wouldn't SWIM there- the tides are kinda gnarly, but you can definitely jump in and cool off. -

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Mon, June 13, 2005 - 7:02 PMThat day fee is a drag, but as I noted it is a nice beach.
Never thought of it as a deterrent to the gawker patrol though; suppose we can set up a booth at Red Rocks?
Really, speaking from a male point of view, I really can't stand those guys that hang out and leer myself. It makes me uncomfortable that they make the women (or anyone for that matter) uncomfortable.
About ten years ago, a woman was sunning herself at the Auburn beach when she saw some guy watching her and uhhh ... well you know; she reached into her backpack and pulled out a small caliber pistol and fired a round just south of the dudes privates. He made quite a sight I'm told running up the hill with his pants at half mast.
Not that I advocate gunplay as a solution, but when something works ... -

Tue, June 14, 2005 - 9:01 AMHe he.
I've never understood what the thrill is with gawking for what seems to be HOURS at Red Rocks.

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Tue, June 14, 2005 - 9:51 AMCome on, it's the only time the poor freaks get to see naked bodies. I went once (and only once) to North Baker, and there were guys masturbating, and "rock rat" sleazy types, and men laying their towels down closer and closer to me.....
Stupid bastards. Even asking them loudly and repeatedly to stop stroking their tiny pencildicks didn't help...where's law enforcement when you need it?
(Probably off in the bushes getting a bareback blowjob).... -

Just let your dog off-leash, or drink from a glass bottle, and you'll grab LE's attention soon enough.... ;)

Re: How is Red White & Blue?
Tue, June 14, 2005 - 10:30 PMYou're forgetting about the "juice bars" ...
Seriously though, there are some of us guys who are equally offended by the idiots. The way we handle the worst offenders at Auburn is for a few of us to go up and just run the dude off.
That's one reason why I joined this group is to get to know some other people if for no other reason than a "safety in numbers" approach. Since I only get to the coast a few times a year, it's tough to make long term aquiantences; so then if a situation came up like you're talking about and if I were to go up and run someone off your reaction would probably be "who is this asshole trying to be some kind of hero" ... and not without some justification. At least by sort of recognizing me from my user pic (hopefully) you'd know I was a fellow traveller and not motivated by other intentions (besides, my wife would have some stern words about that) ... :)
