This weekend, my wife and I are spending some time in Guerneville on the Russian River. I'd like to get out for a bit, but I'm not sure about the status of any of the river beaches, or if there is anyplace worthwhile on the coast.
Anybody have any ideas? Input would be greatly appreciated!

Wed, June 29, 2005 - 12:35 PMI was up there a couple of weeks ago, and the river was running really really high, and really fast and dangerous. Muddy brown, gross, water.
Maybe it's calmed down by now, but with the snow/rain we've had this year, it's probably still going to be high! -

Wed, June 29, 2005 - 6:38 PMHiya ... we got back on Monday, and the Russian was running maybe a bit slower but it really wasn't fabulous swimming weather anyway. We drove down the coast to S.F. on Sunday and at least I did get some time in poking around the tidepools and such. I'm hoping that the holiday weekend will bring a nice strong high pressure on the coast, because I'm jonzin' for some sand between the toes time.
