I'm putting together a trip to Red Rock Beach for this Sunday afternoon. Anyone who's interesting in joing us just drop me a line!

Re: Shizzle! Deleted thread! REPOST FOR RED ROCK
Thu, April 7, 2005 - 11:34 AMI've been a regular at Red Rock since I was sixteen. I will definitely be there this weekend. Look for the couple spinning poi, practicing martial arts, yoga, staff, etc and that is me and my love.
In reply to an earlier comment made by somebody else, under-blanket masturbators, photographers, and general inappropriate behavior for a family beach that happens to be clothing-optional is dealt with by the locals via extreme prejudice. Everybody should be safe, happy, and warm. I look forward to meeting y'alls!
Hari--ping me and I'll be sure that you have some buddies to hang with if you wanna go!

Woohoo! I just checked Sunday's weather for the area around RedRock: partly cloudly, highs in the high 60s to low 70s.
Not perfect, but I'll take it :)

Re: Shizzle! Deleted thread! REPOST FOR RED ROCK
Thu, April 7, 2005 - 3:59 PM"My" (that is, Yahoo!'s) forcast says mid-to-high 60s...still that's not bad.
"Perhaps."
Carpooling?
And FYI: Low tide is 6:30 in the blessed AM for those interested in the nearby hot spring.

Re: Shizzle! Deleted thread! REPOST FOR RED ROCK
Fri, April 8, 2005 - 6:22 AMOh yeah? Hot Spring? I didn't even know there was one there. Tell us more. And, what does low tide have to do with a hot spring?

Re: hot springs
Fri, April 8, 2005 - 1:31 PMThe spring is under sand that is only exposed at low tide. So, people go and dig, dig, dig....and then it's like a little hot tub. It's cool.

Re: Shizzle! Deleted thread! REPOST FOR RED ROCK
Fri, April 8, 2005 - 9:54 AMThe Hot Springs are only gonna happen if its a 0 or negative tide. I haven't looked at the charts this week, so you should check the level before getting your hopes up.

Hi Pi,
Curious: do you actually light up at Red Rock, or bring practice fire toys?

Re: Shizzle! Deleted thread! REPOST FOR RED ROCK
Fri, April 8, 2005 - 11:57 PMActually I was talking with my girlfriend tonight. Since we normally light up Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and then gig on Saturday we don't light up at The Rock. However given this week's fuxed up weather we decided we're going to do a photo shoot at the rock with fire either tomorrow night or Sunday Evening.
We usually bring both practice poi and fire poi.

Pi

Ah cool. I offered to take a few in my car. Of course, if you're frightened by the tribes I'm in (Linux Nerds Unite), you can bring a friend for safety. -

Re: Shizzle! Deleted thread! REPOST FOR RED ROCK
Fri, April 8, 2005 - 4:56 PMI, too, got prior commitmentized. :(
But the first low tide for Sunday (@ 6:30am) is negative, so the spring will be there for a bit. It is kinda hard to describe where it is exactly, but going to RR beach, walking south along the coast, and then looking/listening for others will do it. [Or: go to the bottom of Steep Ravine and do the same thing, walking north.]
