So I'm watching the 10PM news for the long range for this week. See, I've got Friday off from work and I was hoping for a nice high pressure over all of NorCali so I could hit the coast, or the very least the local river spot in Auburn.
But noooo .... rain Thursday, cloudy Friday and more rain over next weekend.
It's May for God's sake, and I haven't made it into the sun yet this year ... I'm starting to get cranky (and transparent).

Any forecast for farther out then 3 or 4 days is roughly as accurate as if you pulled cards from a hat with predictions on them. -

Re: ...Bah!!
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 1:24 PMKeep in mind that right up and through Friday there was rain forecast for Sunday.
Being next to the ocean on one side, next to the mountains on another, and next to the central valley on yet another means one thing: Lots of microclimates. There is not way they can accurately detect the weather in this area using existing technology. They can plug in their models, record what has happened historically, and throw a dart at the results board, but that is about it. -

Re: ...Bah!!
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 3:05 PMYeah, often the weather says it's raining, and I look out the window and it's sunny. So, the report isn't accurate the day of, let a lone a few days out. -

Re: ...Bah!!
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 6:11 PMGood point, particularly in the Bay Area. I'm counting on you guys to give me a heads up around Thursday as to what things are looking like.
Also, I've noticed that things can be different from place to place. After Quirky told me the location, I remembered where Grey Whale Cove was. I visited there several years ago when it was known as Edun Cove. So if it's murky around the city, would Grey Whale be more likely to be clear? -

Re: ...Bah!!
Mon, May 2, 2005 - 7:53 PMNope, more likely to be murky down there. Best to be in Marin when it's crappy here.
