Hi tribesters. Just got back from Antigua a couple of days ago, and am stuck in a crappy situation....so I'm in the humbling position of putting it out there that I need some help.

I have a very painful health condition that is currently keeping (my normally sassy and spunky self) housebound. I'm out of food, my place is a disaster...well, you get the picture.

If anyone would be willing/able to drop some vegan food by I'd be so grateful, and I promise to return the favour when you're feeling down.

And, of course, I hope you all are enjoying your beach days. I'm missing my Caribbean days already....but damn, there's not much going on in Antigua. There is, however, an AWESOME nude beach there, with goats running around on it, and an awesome little reef off it should you ever find yourself there.

Anyway...if you can help me out, please private message me.

This weekend, my wife and I are spending some time in Guerneville on the Russian River. I'd like to get out for a bit, but I'm not sure about the status of any of the river beaches, or if there is anyplace worthwhile on the coast.

How was your weekend?

Hi Y'all ... after a somewhat crazy week and a smashing gig on Saturday night, I had a spectacular day on the American River Sunday. It was the first day I was able to see the regular crowd; and yes Tears, Frank and Gayle were there. I think I might have overdone it a bit on the shoulders and upper back, but it's a hazard of the activity.

Memorial Day wekeend at the beaches

I hit two beaches over the weekend: Baker and Red, White and Blue.
I went to Baker on Sunday and I have never seen it so empty. It was beautfully sunny and warm but there were only a few dozen people at the nude end. Was everyone out of town?
On Monday, I went to Red, White and Blue because I felt like taking a drive. The beach has been washed back in from the winter storms and you can walk all the way down to the end now. This wasn;t the case about two months ago. There were a lot of people out but stillplenty of parking. I just wish I could have gone down Sunday and spent the night - maybe some other time.

So I'm watching the 10PM news for the long range for this week. See, I've got Friday off from work and I was hoping for a nice high pressure over all of NorCali so I could hit the coast, or the very least the local river spot in Auburn.

But noooo .... rain Thursday, cloudy Friday and more rain over next weekend.

It's May for God's sake, and I haven't made it into the sun yet this year ... I'm starting to get cranky (and transparent).

today at the beach

Dropped into San Gregorio today for the first time this year. One of the things I like about this time of year on the beach is seeing all the weird crap that the winter storms washed up. I saw a perfectly good fishing net half-buried in the sand. I thought about taking it home and hanging it on my wall until I realized it would make my house look like a cheap seafood restaurant. San Gregorio is so long it always seems deserted. Almost spooky. You half-expect to see CHarlton Heston screaming at a half-buried Statue of Liberty, "You maniacs!... You blew it up!". It's a great place to take someone when you want to private picnic for two all by yourself. Also at San Gregorio you can leave your clothes in the car since the parking lot is on private property. It costs $5 to park there but I've never heard of a break-in like sometimes happens at other beaches. Not to much sun today. I could barely see my shadow. I walked from the trail to the end of the beach and back and only saw about a dozen people all together even though it's well over a mile. It was a nice hike on the beach, though. The windbreaks mostly survived the winter

Hey there. Just wondering if anyone has an old set up fire poi they may be willing to let go of for cheap. I mainly want to just practice with the weight, and be able to try out the fire to decide if I want to get some good ones...but the `fire' aspect won't be for a while. Yesterday, though it started out nasty enough, was a spectacular day at The Rock. The tides were too tricky for even PolarLena to attempt swimming, but the sun was baking. We were out there until almost 7 when it was time to head to SF for Fire Conclave. There was a grand total of one (fat, ugly) pervert and he was dispatched with a glare. A few other couples, some single peeps, etc. Mem and I were the only regs in site. I practiced bullwhip, poi, and devil sticks; Mem practiced poi, staff, and juggling. Would have been a nice night for a bonfire, but duty called.

LOL. Aaaah, sweet memories for the old timers here. For the newbies, it's a long story...and not one worth telling actually.

So, NEXT weekend, Sunday? Noon.

Mella, you have no excuse. Wait. No one has an excuse. Damn you all, you're coming to Grey Whale Cove next weekend. Including Pi and Memory. (Yes, I do have my whip out).

We're going to have a picnic, so please bring food to share. Vegan food would be great, because then we can all eat it. But, veggie's fine too. I'll just cry because I won't be able to eat it. Come on now, you don't want me to cry.

Drums are good too. Extra drums are extra good.

For those of you wanting to know about this place. As you drive towards Montara on 1, there's a pullout on your left a few miles before. After you risk killing yourself by running across the road, you'll go down a steep road and there's a beautiful beach....beautiful sand...lots of room for those who want to bring toys. It used to be a private clothing optional beach. It's not private anymore I don't think; it's just clothing optional. The water's really nice here usually, but okay, maybe `swimming' was a little optimistic.

Make me proud people! ;)

Red rock or grey whale cove? I'd rather do Sunday, but can do either day. What days can other people go? I'm hoping we can make it a little more organized....like maybe have a potluck...or maybe that's just the lesbian in me being unleashed for a moment;) GOD, I crack myself up...is that pathetic? (rhetorical question).

I think I'd rather grey whale cove because the beach is..well...there's a lot more sand and the water is swimmable, but then we won't see Pi and Memory. Hmmm. Toss up.

Well, "versus" isn't the right word, but a good point was raised in another thread that I thought was worth a new one. If anyone knows of which beaches are famous for being "open", mixed, or "doesn't matter" that would be useful information.

For the record, I'm straight, but am comfortable with gays. Unless I'm being hit on, in which case it's just an unwanted sexual advance. It would be akward going to a "gay beach" and feeling like the odd-man-out.

One is that I'm going to step aside as far as facilitating things for the tribe. I have wanted to start a tribe that is specifically non-sexual, but many of the members are in exclusively or almost exclusively tribes sexual in nature. I haven't known how to deal with this. So, I encourage you to check out each other's postings, and make plans with those you feel an affinity for.

I personally wouldn't feel comfortable going to the beach with everyone in the tribe...but hey, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't go with each other if you want.

So, for those who want to post get togethers, go for it, and I hope you have fun. I will probably e-mail the people I think I'd be most comfortable around. What I absolutely DON"T want is for anyone to go to the beach and feel unwanted sexual energy/pressure around them. If anyone acts in a way you feel is inappropriate, please let me know.

High school antics are over..and...it was HOT today

Went to Baker beach today, and it was actually hot in the sun. Not `warm, and freezing when I sit up'...but hot to the point of wanting to go in the ocean (which was anything BUT hot):)

Even at 6 it was warm. So, time to get your bums out there even if you're stuck in a 9-5.

Here's my two cents. I see where you both are coming from. Personally, I got started with nude beaches in Sweden where people are far more causal about nudity. I joined this tribe because I want to spend some time at the beach with friends...and it's cool to go commando.

While I'm certainly open to f**king on the beach, that's not my primary motivation. Moreover, spending an afternoon outside naked in the sunshine does make me feel more sensual and in tune with my body. That can certainly manifest itself sexually, and that's fine, too.

My point is that I agree with both your positions. But if you don't feel comfortable in this group, fell free to move on. I'm sure the spirit of this tribe has nothing to do with someone feeling uncomfortable.
